Another Google lab creation, the Google Map application for Android devices is a an extraordinary support for all drivers, even if you just want a guide on how to get to a restaurant nearby or you are an tourist visitor that needs a transit direction. Due to its vectorized maps, the apps allows to navigate in a 3D mode, to rotate images and to get the direction in compass mode, and to catch downloaded maps even when you are not connected to network, in order to get to the destination.

The main features of the Google Map apps are: 3D maps; Place Pages option for getting information on points of interest; My location which sets your location even with no GPS coverage, Direction gives you a list of directions for driving, biking or walking; Traffic is a real-time option for finding the most rapid and free route; the Compass mode created for an automatically map rotation according with your direction; Latitude can show where are your dear ones located at this moment and transmit them your coordinates. A large scale of overlay layers are also available with the application, as traffic, satellite, terrain and others.
As the application had only positive reviews from users, in first part of year 2011, Google has launched the last update version for Google Maps. The updated version also available for downloading, brings new features to personalize locations with photos made during visits, to add a new location in the list when you connect to it, to view description of the locations in searching results and a bigger size font for text. Also added other 18 locations available in 3D mode.
