Users that are having mobiles with the 2.2 version of Android, also called Froyo, or superior versions, can enable the video calling from the Skype settings. If these settings are not available, this means that the video calls are not supported by the phone. However, the video calls might not have the same quality, as those made from a certified device. On devices running on Android Froyo, for the video calls only the back side camera will function. The reason is that the Skype mobile app, is allowing only to devices with Android 2.3 version or higher, to access the front camera.

At present, Skype app for Android can be downloaded for free from Android Market. The same developer has created and made available to Android users, few other Skype versions, as Skype mobile on Verizon, Skype for au, Skype on Telkomsel, and Skype on Vodafone.

Android HTC Hero Phone

HTC Hero is the third phone produced by HTC Corporation, and running with an Android operating system. The launching of the HTC Hero Android powered smartphone, was announced in June 2009, and it was made available in Europe starting with July 2009, while in America it was shipped a little later, in October 2009. The novelty was a new introduced user interface, named HTC Sense. The specifications of the HTC Hero are including:

  • a 3.2 inch HVGA touch screen, having a screen coating for anti-finger print;

  • a Qualcomm MSM 7200A processor, running on Android at 528MHz;

  • internal GPS;

  • digital compass;

  • gravity sensor;

  • trackball;

  • 5 megapixels camera with auto-focus;

  • a micro-SD expansion slot;

  • Bluetooth and WiFi support.

The strengths of the HTC Hero, were considered the HTC sense user interface, the multi-touch feature, and the lite version of the Adobe Flash. Angry Birds is a game available for Android devices and not only, that was selected by gamers as the best mobile game. The Angry Birds was released in 2009 by Rovio Mobile Ltd, an entertainment media company, that has developed the game for various mobile platforms. At its release, the Angry Birds was a casual puzzle game, available for touchscreen smartphones.

Currently, there are three Angry Birds games available on Android Market:

  • Angry Birds – this game version is focused on the survival of the Angry Birds, and revenge on the green pigs that have stolen the bird's eggs;

  • Angry Birds Seasons – a special edition of the Angry Birds, that is taking the furious fowl through all over the world celebrations;

  • Angry Birds Rio – within this latest issued version, the fierce fowls are caged and shipped to Rio, and for this reason they get very angry.

The Angry Birds is a physics based game, fun and challenging. Within the first version, users can use the Angry Birds unique powers, to destroy the fortresses of the pigs. The goal of the game is to help Angry Birds survive, and to revenge on the pigs that have stolen their eggs. Each bird has unique powers, that can be used for destroying the fortress of the greedy pigs. The game is played over 285 levels, and requires the skills, the logic and the force to solve of the gamers.

The last underground episode of Angry Birds, is called Mine and Dine. Within this episode, the piggies with a bottomless appetite, have dug deep in some underground caverns, in order to hide the eggs they have stolen. Therefore, Android users have to use the geology and landscape in their advantage, in order to chase the piggies out of the holes where are hiding, to collect rare gems, and to retrieve the stolen eggs.

At present, the Angry Birds game is available for free on Android Market, in the Apps section, Arcade & Action Games category. The game is compatible with Android 1.6 and all superior versions. Until now Angry Birds game has registered around 949.930 downloads, and obtained an average rating of 4.6 from users.
