Android Microsoft Apps

A surprise on behalf of the Microsoft Corporation came in December 2008, when they have released an application for iPhones, called Seadragon Mobile. A month later they have surprised again with the release of the Tag app, available for both iPhones and Android devices. Therefore Tag was the first app launched for the Android mobile platform. This was a notable action, as Google Android is one of the main competitors of the Microsoft mobile.

Tag was created by Microsoft with the scope to offer a technology for the Android mobiles to be used as barcode reader. Users just need to point the photo camera at a specific tag, to take a picture and the app will interpret it. But Microsoft did not stop at this point, and they have continued to develop apps for Android devices. Here are some apps created by Microsoft Corporation and currently available for free on Google PLAY Store.

Lync 2010

An important aspect to know is that this app will work only with a Lync Server, or a Lync Online/Office 365 account. This app was created to extend the power of the Android devices, in aspects related to instant messaging, calling features, audio conferencing, offering at the same time an easy to use interface. Other features are allowing users to view the availability of the colleagues in real time, to initiate an instant message, an email or a phone call, to connect to the Lync conference calls, to forward or to ring simultaneously calls to the Enterprise Voice number.

MSN India News

With this app users can get the latest updates from MSN India, news that are providing information from various fields: international, sport, business and entertainment. The MSN India Free stock ticker can be used with success to get information about the changes registered on the stock market, and with the Cricket Live Scores users can be updated about the results of their favorite team.  

Bing

Bing is a very useful tool that can give information about almost any object, place or activity, offering at the same time the necessary help to get there. The search can be accompanied by amazing images and detailed information about a specific subject. Another useful feature allows users to search by voice any address, including restaurants, shops, etc., when they need to have the hands free. With Bing the Android users can read reviews, look for movie ratings and not only. The results of the search can be shared with friends via email, text messages or Facebook.

This Crafting Guide is not a game, but a useful tool that can be used to become a crafting expert in the PC game called “Age of Empires” online. The app can be used to view stats and recipes for various craft items, to get informed about how to obtain materials and crafting recipes, to check the most popular items of the community, and to vote the favorites as well.

Kinect Star Wars

This social networking app allows users to fully access their Twitter and Facebook accounts, and even to view their feeds in the Star Wars iconic style.

This small application can help you prevent making a phone call by mistake. The app works through a simple confirmation dialog, made every time a phone number is dialed. Within the confirmation dialog, the phone number, the contact name and the photo will be displayed. In case an accidental call is made, the “hang up” button can be used.

Auto Silence

With this app the phone will be turned on silent during a scheduled event. You just need to mark the events in the Google Calendar by adding an “S” at the end of the name of the event. This way, the Android phone will be on silence during this period of time. The vibration mode can be enabled if you do not want to miss calls. The app will notify you every time the sound is turned off and on.

Flip to Mute

Flip to Mute is simple to use, as you can switch the Android phone to the silent mode with a single move. Just flip the phone on the desk, and the ringer will be turned off. When the ringtone turns to mute, you will be notified with a vibration of the phone, and when the ring is turned back on, you will receive a beep confirmation. An important aspect you should know is that this app can work only when the screen is on.

Today, we would like to present a new Android game, that will put your intelligence to work. It is about Yofi, a simple, but original game, created by K2xL, namely by Danny Miller.

This game requires you to drag letters to a grid in order to form clusters of words. You can earn points by storing some high-value words, as instructed by the game itself. You can see that at the bottom of the screen, when the game is running, you have 3 options: Pass, Bank and Menu. We have already told you what Bank does; now let's see what Pass means. With this option, you can pass unwanted letters or replace those existing already on the grid. However, this option can be used only when you have enough space; running out of space means problems in your gameplay. And Menu obviously takes you back to Menu.

In general, a game lasts for 5 minutes, meaning that you can play it at your own pace. Also, if you have made a mistake, you can always use the Undo button to revert your action. Taking into account that there is no time limit, you can use this button as many times as you want.

Are you ready to face some bugs? Because this is what we will present you today, an app named ‘X-Bugs‘, that comes in two versions, free and paid (or the lite and full version) and is available on the Android Marketplace. For now, this game can be found on the Android platform, but soon it will be available for iOS as well.

This application is created by Art Technologies and has this storyline: Dr. X performs some experiments, only that he also makes a mistake, that could change the world as we know it. Obviously, the only person that can save the planet in this case, is you. You need to kill the genetically mutated bugs, that attack everything and can adapt and overcome many obstacles in their path to massive destruction. As you move through the game, you need to keep your eyes wide open, because you enemies will try to silence you. The bugs are ‘smarter’, if we can name them this way and they find new places to hide. Fortunately for you, you will also benefit of some new weapons that will help you through your struggle. All that you need to know is when to use each weapon in order to destroy the bugs and how to create a winning strategy.

The developer of this game tells us that once you start playing it, you will have difficulties in ending your activity. About the game, the developer says you will enjoy 60 challenging levels, you will fight for survival, beat the time, understand how different weapons function, kill bugs in various bonus areas, that will provide more points and compete with other smashers. The game allows you to show your achievements on OpenFeint and become better with every level you pass.
