HTC Android Phones Of 2010

2010 was a great year for HTC phones, the manufacturer making a lot of successful models that are still very popular among Android fans. In this article we’ll take a look at all the Android phones HTC launched in 2010 and we’ll compare their design and functionality to help anyone who is interested in such a phone, make a decision on which model is better for them.

We’ll look at 5 representative models from the year 2010 and we’ll start with the HTC Droid Incredible, a phone model made for Verizon. Like many HTC models, the Droid Incredible will only work on CDMA networks, which means it cannot be used on GSM networks anywhere in the world. People who are committed to Verizon can take advantage of the phone’s large 3.7 inch Gorilla Glass display that hides features like an accelerometer and a proximity sensor used to save battery life. All this is powered by a Scorpion processor and a storage space that can reach as high as 40 gigabytes.

Released in June, the Evo 4G is also a great phone that is designed for wireless service users committed to Sprint. This one maintains the basic HTC design, but its display is much bigger than the previous model’s. Otherwise it’s about the same as the Droid Incredible when it comes to performance and general components. It runs an Android 2.1 operating system which was among the first versions of the OS to be more stable and reliable when it came to navigating through the phone’s menu and the web.

If you don’t want to be tied down by the network restrictions you could take a look at the HTC Aria model, a great phone that is not as good as the previously mentioned models, but which can still be called a decent phone. This one still has the Gorilla hardened display and the proximity sensor, but it only has a 600 megahertz processor and a 5 megapixel camera that can’t compare in quality with the 8 megapixel camera of the previous models.

With a design that appears to be like the design of a Samsung phone, with more rounded shapes, last on our list is the HTC Wildfire. This is also a great phone for people who don’t want any carrier or network limitations, as it was built  to work with any carrier, unlocked models being available from the first couple of weeks after the model was released.

Android Evo Htc

No one is probably unfamiliar with the Evo from HTC Android phone, but in this article I’ll try to highlight some of the things people might not know about this phone. HTC Evo phones have been released since June 2010  and since then four more models have invaded the market. The guys at HTC saw the great potential of this phone model so they decided to make a few more variations of the phone to please the general public who begged for the release of an improved version. Starting in January 2011, HTC gave their audience not one, but four more models to choose from, each with the same Evo core, but at the same time, each different from the other.

First model that appeared was the Evo 4G, a great phone for that time and among the first models with 4G capabilities offered by Sprint. The 4G version is a great phone with great performance capabilities, the only downside to it was that because it was made only for Sprint, it didn’t offer support for GSM networks, which meant that it could be used mainly in the U.S. and only with CDMA network carriers.

In January 2011 Sprint got another present from HTC in the form of the new Evo Shift, also a GSM only phone that resembled as performance the 4G model released earlier, the only difference being that this one had a QWERTY keyboard under the 3.6 inch screen. The operating system improved to Android 2.2 so this phone quickly made its way through the competitors of the mobile phone market.

The last model appeared just a month ago, in July, when the Evo 3D model was launched. This is among the first models to incorporate into its big touchscreen some 3D capabilities. Besides all the cool features like the gyro sensor or the proximity sensor, the phone also comes with a dual core processor, 1 gigabytes of system memory, which is absolutely great for a mobile phone, and a memory that can be upgraded to match a small computer hard drive. The phone’s 5 megapixel camera can take stereoscopic pictures and its video camera has the ability to film in 3D at a 30 fps capacity. The battery is also made of high quality materials as it offers a 7 hour talk time in 3G mode and a 9 hour talk time in 2G mode.
