Desktop Software For Google Android

A Google creation, the Android operating system has registered in the last period an impressive increase of the number of mobiles and tablets running on Android. This was possible mainly due to the continuous development of this operating system, that at the same time is giving users the possibility to personalize their mobiles according with their needs and requirements. An Android mobile is also offering an open access to a large number of applications that can be installed from Android Market. Some of the applications are coming preinstalled, but Android users can choose to install many others from the large number of available applications.

The large capabilities of Android mobiles are allowing users to store important information. In order to create a backup mode for saving this information also on computers, developers have also created some desktop software compatible with Google Android. An example of Android desktop software is the CompanionLink software. This Android sync software is allowing users to synchronize the contacts, calendar, tasks and notes saved in Android mobiles, with the PC. The two-ways synchronizing is letting users to update data from both PC and Android device.

CompanionLink will synchronize Outlook with the Android device, in a secure mode, using the USB cable. The data is transferred directly between devices, with not need to use cloud servers or air data transmission. This sync software is installing on the desktop and is working using a free Android app, called DejaOffice. In addition to the sync functionality, DejaOffice is also giving the business contacts, tasks, calendar and memos on the Android. The CompanionLink is synchronizing the following data:

• contacts: all common fields as name, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, birthdays, contact notes, and for devices that are supporting the function, also the contact photos and categories;

• calendar: event details, all day and recurring events, reminders, the meeting invites accepted, multiple calendars, and categories;

• tasks: task priorities, due dates, categories, and the tasked completed from the Android phone are marked;

• notes: categories, if the Android device is supporting this feature.

In order to use this synchronizing function for Android mobiles and desktops, users need to have installed the CompanionLink software on their PC's, the Microsoft Outlook program, and the DejaOffice app installed on the Android device. DejaOffice is currently available to be downloaded for free from Android Market.
