Android OS 1.6

The title of this article is Android 1.6, but in the same way it could have been Android 2.0. because I want to talk in this article about how you can actually work for Google, or better said what is the atmosphere in which the Android developers actually work to deliver us the best software programs there are at this moment in terms of mobile platforms. I like a lot the iOS as well, but I like better the Google company, don’t ask me why. I don’t have a reason for this. Probably this is why I like better the software also.

If the company does not have, but if you are a great programmer and want to work for them, then you better let them know. And they do not need programmers only, they need persons in sales, in marketing, in the human resources departments and so on. Of course, if you want to work for Google, it would be nice to work in the IT department, after all, this is a company built around the idea of searching. You should ask yourself if you are good enough to work with those who created the Android system and those who improve it day after day. If the answer is positive, you should continue the battle, if not, then do not be afraid to try again and again, who knows, maybe you will succeed.

At Google, you don’t have to know only maths to be great. You need to be also creative, thing that does not happen with the mathematics students and programmers. They are usually not creative. Well, to work for Google, you need to be. The environment in which you will work is filled with fun and entertaining. I have seen some pictures of some employees and I must say that I don’t know if those persons actually work or they are just having fun, because I have seen them in funnier rooms, which do not seem as offices and also I have seen them in rooms that are lively colored, with all sorts of pictures on the walls and so on. I wonder if they are at their office there or in other relaxation location. Search for the available jobs by entering the site I mention in the first paragraph.1

Android OS + Windows

Android OS most likely it means operating system, but there is something else that this phrase could mean, open source. I am sure that the person who wrote this topic wanted us to talk about the operating system that is called Android and that is created for the mobile platforms in comparison to the Windows operating system which is also created for the mobile environments, not the OS that you have on your computer, while you are reading this article.

Most of the computers in the world use the Windows systems. There was a time when Microsoft was said to have the majority of the computers that ran on market in that time. Nowadays, there are more operating systems, one of them being Android. You know that there is iOS also and Linux, which is more for computers, for PCs, than for tablets. I mean I don’t know a tablet that has this system, but I guess that there are. I am not that informed in this regard about Linux, but I will be in no time, because this is a subject that also interests me, just like Android.

In order to build an application for Android, you need to read the terms and conditions to join the Android developers community, because your application will need to be approved by the engineers who are really working for Android. You can contribute to the source code or you can simply get it, but if you respect the conditions imposed by the site. The devices which contain the Android operating system integrated as the main software may contain some other software programs, such as a PHP writer. According to the site which I kept visiting in the last week, I can see that there is a Wampserver program, which can be used by those who want to develop sites that will work on the Android devices and not only for that, for computers as well. In fact, I know this program runs on computers, not on tablets, but you can try it in both environments.

If the program does not run on your tablet, then you can use it on the computer in order to create applications to be ran on a tablet. With this program, you can install everything you need to fulfil that task, as long as you have a Windows computer. I guess the mystery is solved: you can use this software program only if you have a computer and the OS of that computrer must be made by Microsoft. Ok, I am glad that we straighten the things and now we are clear.

But what about the non-Windows users? How can they use the benefits of learning from this site and how come they can still create applications for Android, because they can and when I say this, I have a friend in my mind, who I know that he uses Linux. If you have an iOS or another Apple system, you have a link provided on the same site. The Linux users as well. All you have to do is to enter the site I just linked a few phrases above. For Windows, Wampserver is enough.1

Android OS 2.2

As you can see, I keep writing about the PHP programming language in these articles, even though many of the articles refer to the Android operating system. This happens because the applications that you have on your Android-based device are created with the help of some technologies, which are known as PHP, Perl, Java, Flash and so on. If you want to develop an application or maybe more, you can do this in an organised group, such as entering the Android community, where you will have access to all sorts of tools and codes. But I am not here to talk about this. After all, if you are a novice in these, then you probably don’t know how to write a PHP script, and also how to test it.

There are several things that you need before starting to create PHP scripts, and this is the Easy PHP program and of course, a server, which can be easily created with the help of your computer. Before starting to learn HTML, I learned PHP, which was a bit odd to someone who did not know HTML, but anyway, what I want to say, is that if I managed to do this, then I am sure you can too.

To see how the code is executed on your computer, you can search on the Internet for free hosting sites that allow you to have PHP codes and pages (all of them do this, I mean at least they should do), or make the computer that you have to behave as a server. I am chosen the last variant, because it was simpler to me at that time. And of course, when I started to learn this programming language, there were no sites who offered free hosting of the PHP pages. The results when you run a PHP script are sent from the server to the computer that you own. In the case the computer is configured as a server, which can be done really simple, then the information will be sent from the computer to the computer. The Android operating system runs not only on the mobile devices, that are known as smartphones, but on tablets as well. In this case, you can use a tablet to build some new applications, if you are a developer and want to design your own application. This can be done in several ways. Either you get the tools from Android or if you are that smart and you don’t need the help that can be offered by Android engineers and by others just like you, you develop the application by yourself, but this does not grant you the possibility of creating the app exactly for this platform. Who knows, maybe the app works on your tablet, but it will not run on the tablets had by some other people, simply because you refused to be a part of the Android community of developers.
